Sumi Ink Club Event
The 'Golden' hour is considered the first and last hour of sunlight during the day by photographers, resulting in images with a 'Magical' quality. Stein Galleries presents a monthly student art-making event featuring DIY projects, ink drawing, and collaging with projectors, which takes place during the final hour of our business day.
November's event will be a 4-hour long drawing session based on the Sumi Ink Club events. Sumi Ink Club is a participatory drawing project established in 2005 by Los Angeles-based artists Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck. The club produces work cooperatively in open-to-the-public meetings, which can be organized by anyone at any time. In each of its permutations, Sumi Ink Club uses group drawing as a means to open and fortify social interactions that bleed into everyday life. Sumi Ink Club is non-hierarchical: all ages, all humans, all styles.
Free event, open to everyone. Popcorn and drawing materials provided.
Stein Gallery hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; Thursdays, 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 12:00-4:00 p.m.
