The recital contains four works that Chris and I commissioned over the last 4 years from the wonderful composer Alyssa Morris. 聽She is widely considered, internationally, as the foremost active composer of double-reed music. 聽Several of her works have been performed both at WSU and in the local area. 聽She is faculty at Kansas State University. 聽Of interest, she was in the area, and we had a composer's master class with her on these 4 works at Wittenberg on April 10.聽
Four Premieres:
聽Mixed Signals for oboe and piano, Christopher Nilo, oboe, and Glenn Harman, piano.
Jerusalem Fantasy for two pianos, Amy Gray and Glenn Harman, pianos.
Lost and Found for English horn, bassoon, and piano, 聽Kathy DeGruchy, English horn, John DeGruchy, bassoon, and Glenn Harman, piano. 聽
Puccini Fantasy for viola and piano, Kevin Nordstrom, viola, and Glenn Harman, piano. 聽
