 Daily News Archive lecture\, featuring Dayton Daily News sports writer\, H
 al McCoy\, on Thursday\, November 17\, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. This event is f
 ree & open to the public and will take place in the Endeavour Room in the 
 糖心原创 Student Union. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.\, and the p
 rogram begins at 7:00 p.m.聽Hal McCoy currently covers the Cincinnati Reds 
 for Fox Sports Ohio and writes a blog\, 鈥淭he Real McCoy\,鈥� for the Dayton 
 Daily News. He has covered the Reds since 1972 and is credited with coinin
 g the team鈥檚 nickname 鈥渢he Big Red Machine.鈥� McCoy was inducted into the H
 all of Fame for the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association i
 n 2015. In 2002 he was honored by the Baseball Writers Association of Amer
 ica as the winner of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award\, which recognizes writer
 s 鈥渇or meritorious contributions to baseball writing鈥� each year during the
  induction ceremony at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.McCoy is the aut
 hor The Real McCoy: My Half Century with the Cincinnati Reds (2015) and Th
 e Royal Reds: Baseball鈥檚 New Dynasty (1977). He also co-authored The Offic
 ial Pete Rose Scrapbook (1985) with Pete Rose and Drawing Pete (2008) with
  Jerry Dowling.McCoy graduated with honors from the School of Journalism a
 t Kent State University where he played first base on a partial baseball s
 cholarship.聽Beginning at 6:30\, as well as following the program\, guests 
 may visit with Mr. McCoy as well as enjoy exhibits and light refreshments.
  Exhibits will feature columns\, awards\, and photographs documenting Mr. 
 McCoy鈥檚 career\, as well as items from the Dayton Daily News Archive.聽This
  series is sponsored collaboratively by 糖心原创鈥檚 Department of Commu
 nication\, College of Liberal Arts\, and the University Libraries鈥� Special
  Collections and Archives. The Living Legends lecture series celebrates th
 e Dayton Daily News Archive\, an extensive collection donated to WSU by th
