She has extensive experience in the areas of biotechnolog y\, medicine\, and medical devices\, with expertise encompassing recombina nt DNA and RNA techniques\, design and analysis of transgenic mice\, gene regulation\, translational medicine\, and clinical laboratory medicine. He r post-doctoral research included studies of cytokine signaling and regula tion of metabolic processes in pulmonary\, adipose\, and neuronal cells.\n Dr. Reed earned her PhD in Molecular Developmental Biology at the Universi ty of Cincinnati College of Medicine\, BS in Natural Sciences at the Unive rsity of Cincinnati\, and AS in Medical Laboratory Technology at Indiana W esleyan University. She was a co-founder and intellectual property manager during the early days of the biotech start-up now known as Intrexon Corpo ration.
