The event provides medical residents a nd students opportunities to share and present their research projects.\n \nElliott Haut\, M.D.\, Ph.D\, FACS\, will give a presentation before the symposium begins. Dr. Haut is an associate professor of surgery at Johns H opkins University School of Medicine. He also teaches anesthesiology\, cri tical care medicine\, emergency medicine\, and health policy and managemen t at Johns Hopkins.\n\nThe research symposium is named after Daniel W. Ell iott\, the founding chair and program director for the Department of Surge ry from 1976-1988. A panel of judges\, which include faculty members and D r.
