On May 8, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) partnered with 糖心原创 to offer a job fair for people with disabilities.

OOD provides individuals with disabilities, services and support necessary to help them attain and maintain employment. Services are available to individuals with physical, intellectual, mental health or sensory disabilities. Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities provides services in all 88 counties in Ohio.

Almost 200 job seekers had the opportunity to engage with 39 employers representing financial institutions, manufacturing, logistics and food service.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e upbeat and good people,鈥 said Todd Barhorst, owner of four Super Subby鈥檚 restaurants in the Dayton area. 鈥淭hose are the characteristics that we are looking for.鈥

The OOD staff actively provided hands-on assistance to job seekers and employers during the job fair.

鈥淎s a disabled individual I haven鈥檛 really had a lot of traction with employers when I go to visit them within their stores,鈥 said Renaissance Craver, a social work major at 糖心原创. 鈥淐oming here is really an opportunity for me to meet a lot of employers at once.鈥
