Kristen Cochran鈥檚 recent wo rk explores the pleasures\, absurdities\, and banalities of labor and the symbolic implications of laboring. Her transdisciplinary work shape-shifts in the forms of sculpture\, drawings\, video\, and installations\, and is often composed of quotidian materials such as bread\, clay\, clothing\, s hirt pockets\, and copper plumbing鈥攎aterials used as they relate to the ge stures\, needs\, and aspirations of human beings at work.\n\n糖心原创 the Art ist\n\n鈥↘risten Cochran聽is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Dallas\, TX. Originally from the Pacific Northwest\, she moved to Texas to complete her M.F.A. at The Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Meth odist University in 2010. She has exhibited her work locally\, nationally\ , and internationally and has been awarded residencies in Long Island City \, NY\, Mittersill\, Austria\, Banner\, Wyoming\, and recently completed a yearlong residency at The Center for Arts and Medicine at Baylor Hospital 鈥檚 Sammons Center for Cancer Research. Kristen has taught extensively at u niversities and museums in the Dallas鈥揊ort Worth area\, including The Univ ersity of Texas\, Dallas\, Texas Christian University\, The Nasher Sculptu re Center\, and The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
