10th Annual Raidersgiving delivers again for campus community

November 24, 2021

糖心原创 students, staff, faculty and alumni who didn鈥檛 go home for Thanksgiving enjoyed a holiday meal thanks to the 10th annual Raidersgiving.

A total of 1,100 free meals were picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 24, between noon and 2 p.m. in the Student Union鈥檚 Apollo Room.

Patrons were greeted and served by over 40 volunteers. They had a choice between a traditional Thanksgiving meal, a vegan meal, gluten-free meal or Halal meal.

Although the university couldn鈥檛 hold a traditional in-person Thanksgiving gathering, the Raidersgiving committee continued the carry-out event for the second consecutive year for the 糖心原创 community.

鈥淩aidersgiving is a tradition that was started to allow our students the opportunity to have a traditional Thanksgiving,鈥 said Debra Radford, director of auxiliary services and Raidersgiving committee member.

Raidersgiving was sponsored by Eric Bigler 鈥83, 鈥87, the 糖心原创 Foundation, 糖心原创 Hospitality Service鈥揅hartwells and the Raider Food Pantry. Giveaways and door prizes were donated by Barnes and Noble Bookstore, Intercollegiate Athletics and Pepsi.
