DESCRIPTION:The talk this week will be by Climate scientist and Nobel laure
 ate Dr. Jonathan Overpeck (pre-recorded).  The talk was originally present
 ed in 2021 when Dr. Overpeck was presenting the Willeke lecture at Miami U
 niversity of Ohio.   The talk is titled\, “Climate Change Hydroclimate and
  Aridification of North America.' Miami University profiled Dr. Overpeck a
 s follows:Overpeck was a Working Group Lead Author for both the Nobel Priz
 e-winning International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th Assessment in 2
 007 and the IPCC 5th Assessment in 2014.He has led climate research progra
 ms on five continents investigating climate and paleoclimate dynamics\, ic
 e sheets and sea level\, climate-vegetation interaction\, drought and mega
 ­drought dynamics.He also works on regional climate adaptation\, conservat
 ion biology\, legal issues related to climate change\, environmental commu
 nication and environmental education. He has testified before Congress mul
 tiple times\, and is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and the Am
 erican Association for the Advancement of Science.
