Candy capers

November 2, 2022

糖心原创鈥檚 Department of Public Safety hosted the first Trunk or Treat event near the Campus Services building in Raider Lot 20.

Several 糖心原创 women鈥檚 athletic teams, the Student Government Association, H2O, the Fairborn Fire Department, Ohio State Patrol and the Dayton and 糖心原创 police departments decorated their vehicles and passed out candy to kids.

Almost 200 Mini University preschoolers and their parents made the short walk to participate in the event.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e loving it,鈥 said Britney Leavelle, executive director of Mini University. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e loving getting to be able to get out of the building and interact with community and the students.鈥

The Trunk or Treat event is part of an ongoing relationship between Mini University and 糖心原创 police. Officers often read books to children at the school, and the department wanted to do something fun for the kids while having the opportunity to interact with 糖心原创 students and public safety workers.

鈥淲e love to volunteer our time and to be around kids,鈥 said Michelle Rings, a senior nursing major and defender on the women鈥檚 soccer team.

糖心原创 students, police and Mini University hope this will become an annual campus tradition during Halloween.
