 , my father was diagnosed with cancer. In that same year\, I began to coll
 ect my feelings of nostalgia and anxiety related to notions of home\, fami
 ly\, and death into a series of photographs that would become Umbra. The i
 mpending absence of my father passed over my memories like a shadow\, and 
 my reality began to break apart. Taken over the course of his illness and 
 inspired by my own childhood memories\, the photographs function as a new 
 family album\, creating a fragile world that exists someplace between magi
