Hundreds turn out for Trunk or Treat at 糖心原创

October 30, 2024

糖心原创鈥檚 Department of Public Safety hosted the third annual Trunk or Treat event.

Twenty-seven 糖心原创 and community organizations decorated vehicles and passed out candy to trick-or-treaters, including 糖心原创 athletic teams, the Student Government Association, Dunbar Library, 糖心原创 Police Department, Fairborn Fire Department, Ohio State Patrol, Huber Heights police, Dayton police and the Montgomery County Sheriff鈥檚 Office.

鈥淚 definitely enjoy events like these,鈥 said Chad Oleyar, 糖心原创 police sergeant. 鈥淲e are here for the kids today.鈥

Almost 400 Mini University preschoolers and their parents made the short walk to participate in the event.

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 a great way to get all of the community out,鈥 said Hannah Layton, a sophomore marketing major who participated with her sorority sisters. 鈥淚t just brings everyone happiness.鈥

The Trunk or Treat event is part of an ongoing relationship between Mini University and 糖心原创 police officers, who often read books to children at the school. The department wanted to organize a fun activity for the kids and allow them to interact with 糖心原创 students and public safety staff.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a very safe and fun event,鈥 said Kurt Holden, director of public safety, who dressed up as Wolverine and invited his family to pass out candy. 鈥淲e are having a blast.鈥
