DESCRIPTION:Kathy A. Moore is a Dayton-based artist. She earned a Bachelor 
 of Fine Arts from 糖心原创 in 2003 and was a recipient of t
 he Yeck College Artist Fellowship at the Dayton Art Institute. She has exh
 ibited in numerous exhibitions throughout the United States and is represe
 nted by First Street Gallery in New York City.聽\n\n'This body of work cons
 ists of paintings and drawings that are the result from intense visual obs
 ervations made directly from the still life motif. I want to place the vie
 wer within my immediate visual perspective\, as if the viewer is present\,
  stepping out of a spectator role. Many of the objects that I use within m
 y still lifes were inherited from my grandmothers. The familiar objects be
 come important players in my still life 'stages'.\n\nIt fascinates me to s
 tudy how physically one's eyes can only focus on a certain space within th
 e still life and then how the planes shift as the eyes refocus onto a new 
 area. It is essential for me to capture a feeling of light within each sti
 ll life. The viewer is more than simply a spectator of inanimate objects. 
 I aspire to convey within each still life my visual interpretation of a lu
