Dear Colleagues,
The midpoint of the Fall Semester is an important time for students to reflect on their progress and consider what they need to finish the semester successfully. Midterm grading opened this week, and I encourage faculty to submit grades as early as possible before the noon deadline on Monday, Oct. 12.
Timely midterm grades give students a clear understanding of where they stand academically and time to respond. Whether that means connecting with an instructor, seeking academic support, adjusting study habits or building on what is already working well, this feedback can make a meaningful difference in a student’s semester. Additional details about submitting midterm grades are provided below.
We also have an opportunity next week to help students recognize how far they have come as they prepare for the weeks ahead. The will take place Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium. Open to all students, the event will feature food, fun and resources to help students finish the semester strong. I encourage you to share this opportunity with your students and invite them to stop by.
Thank you for continuing to provide the feedback, encouragement and support that help our students stay engaged and make progress toward their goals.
Midterm grade reporting is open for all full-semester fall classes. Midterm grade reporting is required for all undergraduate-level classes, with some exceptions.
Midterm grades are due by noon on Monday, Oct. 12. Detailed instructions for posting grades can be found on the Registrar’s grading webpage.
