Human Relations

Nominee excels in their positive interactions with their colleagues that promote enthusiasm, harmony, trust, and growth in their unit and/or campus as a whole. The nominee demonstrates an open, caring attitude, with attentiveness to the needs and concerns of others, where everyone feels valued and respected. Shows a strong commitment to their job and to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Leadership

Nominee provides leadership through mentorship, committee participation and serving as a role model. The nominee uses originality to develop creative solutions to challenges that result in a significantly more effective and efficient department or overall university operations. Shows a strong commitment to their job and to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Outstanding Performance

Nominee consistently exceeds the expectations of their position, performing at a level above and beyond normal job requirements and expectations. Shows a strong commitment to their job and to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Outstanding Unit or Collaborative Unit 

Awarded to a department, division, program, or collaborating group that maintained exemplary service and excelled in one of the following areas: retention, recruitment, or relationships.

Service

Award will be presented to an individual, group, or unit which demonstrates courage, character, philosophy, and accomplishments, and mirrors the innovative spirit that created ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ and continues to fuel its impact. Shows a strong commitment to their job and to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Spirit of Innovation 

Award will be presented to an individual, group, or unit which demonstrates courage, character, philosophy, and accomplishments, and mirrors the innovative spirit that created ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ and continues to fuel its impact.

Student Success Champion 

Nominee contributes to the positive experience of students at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ by providing significant support to programs and services that impact student success and satisfaction. Nominee champions students’ success at every opportunity. Shows a strong commitment to their job and to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.


Non-eligible Individuals and Units

The following individuals are not eligible for awards:

Administrators

  • President’s Council/Cabinet
  • Provost’s Council

Also Not Eligible

Faculty, ROTC Military Appointments, Contract Personnel not on ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´'s payroll.

Notes

Recent recipients of the President's Award for Excellence within the last ten years are not eligible.

If any of these recipients are nominated in a Unit/Units award they will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
