Asian Heritage Month Lecture: "Hong Kong-Life Before and After the Transition (1997-2017)"

On the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's "handover" to China, Mr. Steve Barclay, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York, will share his insight of Hong Kong's economic, social and political transition from British colonial rule to the People鈥檚 Republic of China.
Mr. Barclay has held a wide variety of roles in the Hong Kong government since 1979. 聽He is responsible for promoting and strengthening the business, trade and cultural ties between Hong Kong and 31 eastern states in the United States. 聽Prior to his appointment in August 2014, he served as director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney, Australia for four years. 聽He has served as a District Officer in Hong Kong and also as Hong Kong's economic and commercial representative in Brussels. 聽Mr. Barclay has twice been responsible for drafting the Chief Executive's Policy Address.聽
