Please join us for a panel discussion of the recently released report, compiled by the bipartisan United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, about the CIA鈥檚 Detention and Interrogation Program. (The classified version is over 6500 pages long; a 525-page portion was publicly released in December.) Is this report a necessary part of the democratic oversight of intelligence agencies? Or does it provide evidence that can be used by extremists? Does the release of this information imperil the US intelligence community? Does it help prevent the use of torture in the future? How do these events impact efforts to prevent terrorism? Our panel will be led by Drs. Donna Schlagheck and Vaughn Shannon from 糖心原创, and Dr. Mark Ensalaco from the University of Dayton.
