����ԭ��’s will demonstrate how the digital revolution is changing art in its latest exhibition “Materialized.”

Each of the 58 works of art in the exhibit used some digital process in their design or production.

Featuring works by 27 artists, “Materialized” will be on display Oct. 26 through Dec. 7.

Tom Lauerman, a featured artist and exhibition juror, will give a gallery talk on Sunday, Oct. 26, 3–4 p.m., with a reception following until 5:30 p.m.

As an early adopter of 3D printing, Lauerman has combined traditional craft techniques with digital fabrication for more than a decade. He received the Horizon Award from the American Craft Museum (now known as the Museum of Arts and Design) in New York and an Individual Artist Grant from the Illinois Arts Council.

“One great benefit of taking on a project like ‘Materialize’ for me has been this process of getting to know the work of the artists represented here,” Lauerman said. “None amongst us has used these technologies for a particularly long time. We aren’t rebelling against a previous generation of digital fabrication artist whose work we feel constricted by. These are first-generation digital fabrications. It is a path laid one step at a time in every possible direction simultaneously.”

Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. All gallery events are free and open to the public.

Visitor parking areas on campus are free and parking at the Creative Arts Center is unrestricted after 5 p.m. Fridays and weekends.

The “Materialize” gallery talk and reception are an official , a community celebration designed to demonstrate how STEM areas impact people’s lives.

The exhibition is supported by ����ԭ��’s College of Liberal Arts, the Ohio Arts Council and individual supporters of the Stein Galleries.
