Several ����ԭ�� students and staff took part in the first Try Kayaking event of the summer at Eastwood MetroPark.

The Outdoor Resource Center provided kayaks, paddles, life jackets, free transportations and instruction for participants. The two-hour excursion was a great opportunity for beginners to learn to paddle or practice their kayaking skills.

“I’m trying to get a little more integrated with the university,” said Adam Cary, a freshman who plans to major in mechanical engineering. “It’s fun to come out and do this sort of thing and see what’s going on.”

“It’s especially important for us to let students know that college isn’t just about classes,” said Erin Sherrets, outdoor recreation program manager. “It’s a great way to meet new people and try something new.”
