Several 糖心原创 students and staff took part in the first Try Kayaking event of the summer at Eastwood MetroPark.

The Outdoor Resource Center provided kayaks, paddles, life jackets, free transportations and instruction for participants. The two-hour excursion was a great opportunity for beginners to learn to paddle or practice their kayaking skills.

鈥淚鈥檓 trying to get a little more integrated with the university,鈥 said Adam Cary, a freshman who plans to major in mechanical engineering. 鈥淚t鈥檚 fun to come out and do this sort of thing and see what鈥檚 going on.鈥

鈥淚t鈥檚 especially important for us to let students know that college isn鈥檛 just about classes,鈥 said Erin Sherrets, outdoor recreation program manager. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great way to meet new people and try something new.鈥
