����ԭ�� hosted a Women in STEMM Mentoring Event in the Student Union Atrium on April 13.

The event featured guest speakers and a speed mentoring session where 22 ����ԭ�� science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine students were able to meet with 22 potential women mentors who work in those fields.

“We recruited or invited a number of professional women, both ����ԭ�� faculty as well as alumni and people that are working at the base and government work and in industry and companies,” said Kathy Engisch Ph.D., interim dean of the.

The activity mimicked speed dating. Students asked questions to potential mentors in seven-minute intervals, then moved to a different table when time expired.

When the event concluded, mentors selected several students they are interested in having a mentoring relationship with.

The event was sponsored by Leidos, which specializes in national security, defense, health care and engineering.
