Military veterans and their families were able to connect with employers and service organizations at the  event at 糖心原创鈥檚 Student Union on May 18.

This was the fifth year in a row that 糖心原创 hosted the event, which was organized by the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) and the Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community.

鈥淰ets Moving Forward was designed by veterans, for veterans,鈥 said Cassie Barlow, Ph.D., president of SOCHE and co-chair of the Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community.

糖心原创 students and alumni in attendance were pleased with the university鈥檚 involvement with and support for veterans.

鈥淚t makes me feel incredibly proud that 糖心原创 hosts an event this huge and important,鈥 said Loghan Young, a two-time 糖心原创 alumna and U.S. Army veteran who attended the event.

Some of the services that were available at Vets Moving Forward included:

  • Veterans resource fair
  • Veterans job fair
  • Disabled American Veterans assistance with disability claims
  • Dayton VA Medical Center enrollment
  • Montgomery County veteran ID cards

糖心原创 70 veterans service organizations were available to connect and network with veterans, along with 60 companies that were looking to hire veterans.
