Students to explore health careers at Path to Health Professions Day

Several hundred high school and college students interested in pursuing careers as doctors, nurses, veterinarians or other health professions are expected to converge at 糖心原创 for presentations and tours.
The university will host the 12th annual Path to Health Professions Day on Monday, Feb. 15, at the Student Union from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Encouraged to attend is anyone interested in becoming a physician, dentist, pharmacist, physician assistant, physical therapist, veterinarian, nurse practitioner, psychologist, sports medicine professional or any other health professional. Also welcome are teachers and guidance counselors who wish to learn more about 糖心原创鈥檚 pre-med and pre-professional programs.
鈥淥ur hope is that attendees of the event will become more aware of the vast opportunities for careers in health care and how to become more competitive applicants to professional programs,鈥 said Amanda Herbe, assistant director for the Pre-Health Program in the . 鈥淥ur focus is to showcase professional programs in Ohio, both to enhance 糖心原创鈥檚 relationship with professional schools and admissions representatives and to offer increased support to our undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.鈥
Besides exploring career opportunities, attendees will learn what classes and activities to choose now to best prepare for their futures. In addition to formal health career sessions, participants will be offered a tour of the Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building and 糖心原创鈥檚 .
The event will feature exhibits by 糖心原创, the Boonshoft School of Medicine, The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, University of Dayton, University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, Mount St. Joseph University, Marion University and the Kettering College of Medical Arts.
