Dozens of 糖心原创 students enjoyed cookies, hot cocoa, holiday music and puppy kisses in the Student Union Atrium during a Holiday Destress Event on Dec. 1.
The Student Government Association, Raider Pups, Miracle Makers and the Commuter Student Association collaborated on the event to give students a chance to relax before Final Exam Week and make cards and ornaments for patients at Dayton Children鈥檚 Hospital.
鈥淎s you can imagine being a kid in the hospital over the holidays can be rough,鈥 said Amber Barga, a senior majoring in communication studies and president of Miracle Makers. 鈥淭he cards are something extra to show those kids that might not be feeling great that there are people that are thinking of them at 糖心原创.鈥
Alaina Collins, a junior majoring in elementary education, who helped organize the holiday event hopes to see more student organizations collaborate in the future.
鈥淚 definitely like the idea of student leaders coming together to do something cool like this,鈥 said Collins, who is the vice president of SGA.
The cards and ornaments created at the Holiday Destress Event will be delivered to Dayton Children鈥檚 in a few weeks.
