Thousands attend Adventure Summit at 糖心原创

Nationally known speakers Amy Purdy and Luke 鈥淪trider鈥 Jordan, exhibits and an indoor triathlon were among the highlights of the Adventure Summit, held in the 糖心原创 Student Union Feb. 12-13.

The Adventure Summit is a 10-year partnership between Five River MetroParks and 糖心原创.

鈥淭his event is for the adventurers who are looking to ignite a spark for adventure and the dreamers who may never climb Mount Everest but want to be close to someone who did,鈥 said Brent Anslinger, outdoor recreation manager for Five Rivers MetroParks, a regional public park system.

The Adventure Summit featured talks by Luke 鈥淪trider鈥 Jordan, a long-distance trail adventurer, and Amy Purdy, who won a bronze medal in snowboarding in the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, was runner-up on 鈥淒ancing with the Stars鈥 in 2014 and co-founded Adaptive Action Sports, a nonprofit organization dedicated to introducing people with physical challenges to action sports.

The event also included numerous panel discussions and activities like an indoor triathlon, a bouldering competition and canoe battleship.

Approximately 8,000 attended the Adventure Summit, and more than 100 volunteers helped to make it a success.
