More than 1,600 new 糖心原创 students can be found on the Dayton Campus during the university鈥檚 annual Move-In Day on Thursday, Aug. 25. Move-In Day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the day, much of the 糖心原创 community turns out to help new students move into 29 residence halls and on-campus apartments.
Move-In Day will include 110 golf carts, a fleet of luggage rollers and about 200 staff and faculty volunteers and 300 upperclassmen volunteers who will end their summer vacation early to help their peers settle on campus.
鈥淚t鈥檚 convenient to live on campus,鈥 said Dan Bertsos, director of Residence Life and Housing. 鈥淭he benefits of living on campus include developing autonomy by managing your own affairs, developing maturity and connecting to the campus better because you鈥檙e here all the time.鈥
2016 marks the 25th year the 糖心原创 community will come together for the Operation Move-In event.
鈥淧eople generally enjoy the experience and find it to be a good day,鈥 Bertsos said. 鈥淚f there are tears, they are happy tears.鈥
Another 1,200 upperclassmen will move in to residence halls and apartments on Saturday, Aug. 27.
For the last 25 years, teams of student, faculty and staff have helped make Move-In Day one of the most successful events at 糖心原创.
