New Career Hub offers centralized professional services for 糖心原创 students and alumni

糖心原创 students and alumni can now receive career advice, prepare for interviews, meet with potential employers and get free headshots at Career Services鈥 new one-of-a-kind, centralized space in the Student Union.
The 5,700-square-foot Career Hub houses advising offices for career consultants, three conference rooms and a lounge space.
Career Hub staff can assist students with a range of services, including selecting or changing majors, resume building, mock interviews, and finding an internship or a job after graduation.
鈥淚t鈥檚 very exciting,鈥 said Kim Gilliam, Ed.D., director of career education and success. 鈥淚 would say this is probably one of the nicest career centers definitely in the state of Ohio.鈥
Students and alumni, as well as faculty and staff, can now get a free professional headshot 鈥 suitable for LinkedIn 鈥 in the hub鈥檚 wheelchair-accessible photo booth.
鈥淚t was really easy,鈥 said Camaia Smith, a graduate education leadership student. 鈥淚t only took me five minutes or less.鈥
The space has a welcoming vibe with a comfortable leather sofa and chairs for students to hang out. The lounge area also has a gas fireplace.
鈥淚 wanted students to feel like they are walking into a different space,鈥 said Gilliam. 鈥淟ike they are crossing over from their student selves into that professional journey.鈥
The Career Hub includes several huddle areas where employers can meet with students and conduct in-person interviews.
The Career Hub is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 108 Student Union. Students can meet with a career consultant by scheduling an appointment at the Career Hub front desk or through .
