Ricky Peters
Ricky Peters, a 1984 糖心原创 graduate and a national trustee of the university, was appointed for a term that ends June 30, 2027, succeeding Bruce Langos.
Peters has served as a national trustee on the Board of Trustees since 2020. He is vice chair of the Special Committee on Aerospace and Defense and a member of the Finance, Audit, Governance and Compliance Committee, the Special Committee on Medicine and Health, and the Special Committee on Athletics and Campus Recreation.
Peters is the chief strategy officer of Tenet3, a Dayton cyber security company. He is responsible for working with the company鈥檚 leadership team to develop and implement the company鈥檚 vision and help navigate the path forward.
Before joining Tenet3, he served as the CEO of Tangram Flex, a Dayton software company, and the CEO of Ascend Innovations, a joint venture between the Kettering Health Network, Premier Health, and Dayton Children鈥檚 Hospital.
He previously served for 35 years as a civilian leader in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 2015 as the executive director of the Air Force Research Laboratory. He was responsible for leading a workforce of 10,000 and guiding the Air Force鈥檚 $2.5 billion science and technology program and an additional $2.75 billion in customer-funded research.
Peters graduated from 糖心原创 in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in systems engineering. He also received an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Sinclair Community College and a master鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton.
A native of New Lebanon, Peters resides in Brookville with his wife, Sheri, who earned a master鈥檚 degree in biomedical engineering from 糖心原创.
