COVID-19 Emergency Financial Aid for Students

Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF/HEERF II/HEERFIII) Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

As a part of the CARES, CRRSAA,听and听ARP Acts, 糖心原创 was awarded Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF), which provides grants to assist student needs as a result of COVID-19 and campus operations going remote. 糖心原创 signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement that we will use no less than 50 percent of funds received to provide direct grants to eligible students who were affected by campus operations going remote and/or the national pandemic. 糖心原创 will receive $5,070,423 under the CARES act, $5,070,423 under the CRRSAA, and $14,508,548 under the ARP to provide direct grants to students and will report quarterly on how grant funds are provided to students. The university has distributed $24,576,844 to 12,395 students as of September 30, 2022.

All student听HEERF听funding has been听utilized as of October 10, 2022 and the grant is closed.

Disclosing Previous Methods Used to Determine Eligibility

糖心原创 is required to disclose the methods used to determine eligibility for the Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEERF) Grant received under Section 18004(a)(1).

Direct Grants to Students for Spring 2020

糖心原创 realizes the impact that moving classes remote has on our students. To assist with those expenses, on May 11, 2020, the university provided $4,452,750 in grants directly to 5,714 students who met specific requirements. Awards ranged from $75 to $1,000 depending on need and enrollment.听
Students had to meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Enrolled in Spring 2020 in courses that were face-to-face as of May 13, 2020
  • Met basic federal student aid requirements
  • Filed a 2019-2020 FAFSA and completed all outstanding financial aid requirements as of May 1, 2020
  • 2019-2020 FAFSA EFC between $0 and听$20,000

Direct Grants to Students for Fall 2020

糖心原创 realizes the impact that moving classes remote has on our students residing on campus. To assist with those expenses, on September 8, 2020, the university provided $214,750 in grants directly to 860 students who met specific requirements. Awards were $250 per student. Students had to meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Enrolled in a degree program for Fall 2020
  • Met basic federal student aid requirements
  • Filed a 2020-2021 FAFSA and completed all outstanding financial aid requirements as of September 8, 2020
  • Reside in on-campus housing

Direct Grants to Students for Spring 2021 (CRRSAA/HEERF II)

In March 2021, 糖心原创 automatically awarded enrolled students with financial need. Eligible students were provided grants ranging from $100鈥�$1,000.听Students听who received funding听were sent an email explaining the details of the award.听HEERF grants were applied to student accounts and refunded directly to students. We encourage students to听set up direct deposit in WINGS.

Direct Grants to Students for Summer 2021 (ARP/HEERF III)

In June 2021, 糖心原创 automatically awarded enrolled students with financial need. Eligible students were provided grants ranging from $100鈥�$1,100.听Students听who received funding听were sent an email explaining the details of the award.听HEERF grants were applied to student accounts and refunded directly to students. We encourage students to听set up direct deposit in WINGS.

Direct Grants to Students for Fall 2021

In September 2021, 糖心原创 automatically awarded enrolled students with financial need. Eligible students were provided grants ranging from $100鈥�$2,000.听Students听who received funding听were sent an email explaining the details of the award.听HEERF grants were applied to student accounts and refunded directly to students. We encourage students to听set up direct deposit in WINGS.

In January 2022, 糖心原创 automatically awarded enrolled students with financial need. Eligible students were provided grants ranging from $175鈥�$2,000.听Students听who received funding听were sent an email explaining the details of the award.听HEERF grants were applied to student accounts and refunded directly to students. We encourage students to听set up direct deposit in WINGS.

Direct Grants to Students for Fall听2022

In October听2022, 糖心原创 automatically awarded enrolled students who had special circumstances. Students听who received funding听were sent an email explaining the details of the award.听HEERF grants were applied to student accounts and refunded directly to students. We encourage students to听set up direct deposit in WINGS.

Emergency Fund Applications

Enrolled students who do not automatically receive a HEERF grant each semester can apply for assistance with unexpected expenses related to COVID-19. The听HEERF application is closed and funds are no longer available.

What expenses are these grants designed to assist with?

These grants are designed to assist students with the additional expenses they incurred due to COVID-19 and the national emergency. Expenses include:

  • Food
  • Housing
  • Course materials
  • Technology
  • Health care
  • Childcare
