Overview

The is a coalition of the nine most prominent historically African American, Greek-letter fraternities and sororities. Currently representing over 1.5 million members internationally, the听organization boasts a diverse membership comprised of students, celebrities, corporate, political, and community leaders. The NPHC was organized on May 10, 1930,听on the campus of Howard University. For over 90 years, members of the constituent Greek-letter organizations of NPHC have convened to discuss and address issues of mutual concern. The collective social and economic power of the NPHC has been a significant source of change for the African American community in America since its inception.

Memorial Plots

糖心原创 is proud to be the first public university in Ohio to create NPHC plots on听campus. In keeping with the university's commitment to diversity and inclusion, a special place on campus has been created to honor the past, present, and future members of the NPHC. This reverent space on campus provides an area for reflection, celebration, and gathering for our members.

Welcome New 糖心原创 Students

糖心原创's chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) hosts five historically African-American fraternities and sororities on our campus. The organizations include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc;听Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc;听Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.听 听 0;听and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. These organizations provide opportunities for undergraduate students to become involved as active figures on and off-campus, upholding the principles these organizations established several years ago.

The NPHC was formed as a permanent organization with the stated purpose and mission: "The听NPHC shall be to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern. To this end, the NPHC promotes the well-being of its affiliate fraternities and sororities, facilitates the establishment and development of local councils of the NPHC and provides leadership training for its constituents..鈥� These problems of mutual interest derive from the need to raise community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities.

糖心原创's fraternities and sororities are always looking for new members who exhibit interest in the organizations and the goals for which they strive to achieve. As a new college student, we encourage you to learn about Greek life听by exploring听the organizations on campus听and discovering what they can do for you.

How to Join

NPHC organizations participate in membership intake, selecting, educating, and initiating new members at a time deemed appropriate by the specific organization. Each of the national organizations highly regulates membership intake. Generally, students must: have a minimum GPA of 2.5鈥�2.75 on a 4.0 scale, be involved in a leadership role on campus,听and actively perform听service in the community. NPHC groups do not accept first-semester first-year students.

Aspirants, or interested persons, should note that individual organizations hold informational meetings throughout the academic听year. These meetings will be advertised in various campus locations and will allow aspirants听to learn more about an organization and perhaps get specific intake questions answered. In addition, students who are interested in learning more about the entire council are encouraged to attend the annual NPHC Open House.
