Office 2016 Update

Microsoft recently released Office 2016 for Windows and Mac, featuring听updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other popular听applications. CaTS is now recommending that Office 2016 be installed on听all university-owned computers.

If you currently use a university-owned computer that has Office 2010 or听Office 2013 installed, we encourage you to upgrade to Office 2016. You听can do this by installing the software through Software Center, or听calling the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827 and requesting the upgrade听if you are using a non-domain PC or a Macintosh. The installation is听free and in most instances can be done over the phone. For more听information on using Software Center, visit听/information-technology/services/software-center.

Beginning October 1, 2016, all new computers purchased for university听use will have Office 2016 already installed when you receive it, so no听upgrade will be necessary.

Office 2016 will also be installed in all computer labs and electronic听classrooms by the beginning of the 2016 Fall Semester. If you currently听use Microsoft Office in any of your coursework, it is recommended that听you begin revising that content to reflect Office 2016.
