Updates to the New WINGS Portal

After conducting usability tests and reviewing feedback, CaTS has made a few updates to the new !

  • 鈥榃right1 Card Services鈥� and 鈥楶arking Services鈥� shortcuts are now featured under the 鈥楽ervices鈥� section.
  • A 鈥楲ibraries鈥� button has been added above Campus Announcements.
  • Bookmarks are back! Add links to your most commonly visited sites under the 鈥楳y Links鈥� section.

New WINGS Portal Now Available

The new version of WINGS - streamlined for announcements and alerts 鈥� is
now available!

Click on the 鈥淲INGS (beta)鈥� icon on the WINGS homepage to try it out.
Classic WINGS will still be available until the end of the year.

Group and Course Studio are not available in the new WINGS portal.

We welcome your feedback on the new WINGS. Click on the 鈥淭ell us what
you think鈥� link under the Feedback section.

Phishing Scam Notice for 6/1/15

The Help Desk was recently notified of an email phishing scam that聽targets 糖心原创 students, faculty, and staff. This scam, which may聽have a subject line titled " School Mail-Box Validation,鈥� asks you to聽click on a link to validate your 糖心原创 email account and聽indicates that a failure to do so will result in the deletion of your聽account.

Please be aware that this is a scam. Do not click on the link provided聽in the email or give out any personal information.

Reminder: Office 365 Sites Training

CaTS is offering training workshops for owners and users of Office 365
Sites. Sites are built using Microsoft SharePoint Online.

* Owner sessions include instructions on how to create and maintain
Office 365 Sites.

* User sessions focus on accessing and working with data stored in Sites.

New WINGS Portal Coming June 2nd

A new version of WINGS - streamlined for announcements and alerts - will
launch on June 2.

Following the launch, you can access both the Classic WINGS and new
WINGS portals. However, Classic WINGS will be retired at the end of the
year, so please begin your transition as soon as possible.

Group and Course Studio will not be available in the new WINGS portal.

Borrow a Laptop from CaTS

Laptops2Go is a program that allows students in good standing to checkout a computer with their Wright1Card for 4 hours. Located at the CaTS Help Desk in 025 Library Annex, Laptops2Go allows you to choose whether you want a Mac or a PC in order to best serve your needs as a student. If you need the laptop for longer than the initial 4 hours, the computers can be renewed for an extra 4 hours.聽

Adobe Software and New Self-Service Process

CaTS is excited to announce that several software packages are now聽available to faculty and staff at no charge for use on university-owned聽computers. CaTS has also implemented a new self-service process to聽distribute this software, through the utilization of Software Center.


Available Software

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 11
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)


Coming Soon

  • Microsoft Office, SAS, SPSS, STATA, and MatLab


Software Center

  • Software Center allows for self-service software installations.
  • Software Center allows CaTS to report usage of software to optimize聽licensing costs.


Windows users: Software Center is now available.

  • To determine if you have Software Center, go to your 'Start' menu,聽select 'All Programs', and Software Center will be listed if available.
  • If you don't see Software Center on your Windows PC, please call the聽Help Desk for assistance with installing the software.


Mac users: Software Center for Mac is coming soon; in the mean time,聽please call the Help Desk for assistance with installing the software.
