Announcements
糖心原创 App
One of the most buzzworthy items we鈥檝e recently unveiled is the new 糖心原创 App! Many of you have already downloaded it, and we鈥檙e hoping the rest of you will soon! The 糖心原创 App offers a quick and convenient way to access student essentials. You can now easily view your scheduled classes, the building and room number they鈥檙e in, and who the professor is. You can also view your full schedule if you want a quick overview of the semester. The app also has a shortcut to Pilot, which allows easy access to course information and materials, as well as making it convenient to check grades that have been updated through the portal. You can also view your final grades from previous semesters, access the payment center, and look up people and departments through the directories. New on campus and feeling a little lost? Quickly access a map of the campus to find your way! Along with these features, you can also receive important notifications about news and events, as well as connect to social media all from the palm of your hand.
Microsoft Lync
With Microsoft Lync, you can chat and share with friends, classmates, or anyone with a 糖心原创 Office 365 account. Organize your Lync account by creating groups and communicate instantly with others through text and voice chat. Communicating through Lync is a great way to work with others when you cannot arrange face-to-face meetings. You can even share your computer screen to collaborate on projects more easily.
OneDrive for Business
All university faculty, staff, and students now have access to another new service from Microsoft called OneDrive for Business. OneDrive for Business is a cloud storage solution for your files and work documents, and is accessible with any web browser. Along with OneDrive for Business, you will have access to the Office Web Apps, which are web versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
OneDrive for Business, accessible through your Office 365 account, comes with 1 TB (terabyte) of free storage space. Your files can be kept private or you can share them with others. You will also have the ability to collaborate with others on a document.
Please remember that as you begin using OneDrive for Business, you should not store any files or documents that contain sensitive university data. If you do so, you will be in violation of ,, which is the university鈥檚 IT Security Policy. See section 11300.03 for further information.
RaiderMail is Now Office 365
As the university adopts more Microsoft services (such as Lync and OneDrive), and in order to be consistent with Microsoft鈥檚 naming conventions, CaTS has changed the name of our RaiderMail service in order to better describe what Microsoft services we offer. This new name is Office 365, which is Microsoft鈥檚 official name for the suite of online services which includes email, calendar, contacts, Lync, and OneDrive.
Please take note that nothing will be required from you for this change to take effect. You will still have the same email and calendar system, and you will still access these services in the same way you鈥檝e always done. If you have questions about this, be sure to contact the CaTS Help Desk.
New CaTS Website
The CaTS website recently received a makeover! The site has been re-built from the ground up to give you access to important announcements, features, and services that you use and need on a daily basis. You can find answers to your technology questions more easily, and you can even learn more about our departments in the 鈥溙切脑粹 section of the page. Be sure to take some time to browse the site, and let the Help Desk now if you have any questions or can鈥檛 find something on our new page.
Technology Tips
Phishing Scams
CaTS wants to remind you about the dangers of email phishing scams and how best to avoid them. For those that don鈥檛 know, phishing scams are emails which are designed to trick you into sending an unknown third party your campus username and password or other personal or financial information. Your information can then be used in a number of ways, from accessing your email to identity theft. Frequently, these emails look like they鈥檙e coming from 糖心原创, CaTS, your bank or credit card issuer, or any other institution you do business with.
Be aware that any email claiming to be from CaTS, 糖心原创 or another business which asks for your login, personal, or financial information is a definite scam. CaTS, WSU, and other reputable businesses WILL NEVER ask you for any personal information, such as your username and password, via email. CaTS would also like to emphasize that you should never respond to these emails or click links within them, nor should you give out your personal information to anyone via email.
If you receive an email and are unsure if the message is a scam, feel free to contact the CaTS Help Desk. We can help you determine whether the message is real or not.

Downloading Firefox Web Browser
CaTS recently found that if you are searching for the Firefox web browser download on Google, the first 2-3 search results are for malware or spyware. Not until the third or fourth link do you actually see the real download link. If you鈥檇 like to download Firefox, we recommend that you do so from our ConnectWright website. CaTS has links on this site that go directly to the download links you need. Check out the site at the following location:
