Phishing Scam Notice for 8/27/19

The Help Desk was recently notified of an email phishing scam that targets ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ students. The message comes from the email address jamesvicent222@gmail.com, and has a subject line of 'Job Offer.....'.

Please be aware that this is a scam. As always, do NOT give out any personal information, and delete the message from your ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ inbox.

If you have already given out your personal information, be aware that this is a phishing attempt if you are contacted about this job offer. Do not provide any additional information (i.e. banking information, etc.).

Issues Making Outbound Phone Calls 8/20/19

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ is currently experiencing issues making outbound, off-campus phone calls. It has been determined that this is the result of ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´'s carrier CenturyLink, and is not limited to just ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

CaTS is working with the vendor to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and will notify campus once the issue has been resolved.

This is only affecting ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ landlines placing external phone calls. Cellular coverage is not affected.

The Help Desk was recently notified of an email phishing scam that targets ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ students. The message comes from the email address burrows.17@wright.edu, and contains a link that appears to take you to the WINGS login page.

The link contained in the message was blocked when the Help Desk was first made aware of this phishing scam.

Please be aware that this is a scam. As always, do NOT click on the link or enter your ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ credentials. When logging in to any ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ online service, always go directly to the website you are signing in to.

If you have already clicked on the link and entered your credentials, please change your password immediately.

Phishing Scam Notice for 8/14/19

CaTS has recently seen an increase in an email phishing scam targeting ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ students. The email comes from an @student.aiuonline.edu email address, with a subject line such as 'action required fafsa info'.

Please be aware that this is a scam. Do NOT click on the link or download any documents sent to you through this email. If you have entered any account information, please change your password immediately.

CaTS blocked this email address from sending to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ users as we became aware of the scam.

Research Park Network Outage for 8/6

The Help Desk was recently notified of an email phishing scam that targets ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ faculty, staff, and students. The message comes from the email address ancastle@wright.edu, and contains a link that appears to take you to either the WINGS or WINGS Express login page.

The link contained in the message was blocked last night when the Help Desk was first made aware of this phishing scam.

Please be aware that this is a scam. As always, do NOT click on the link or enter your ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ credentials. When logging in to any ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ online service, always go directly to the website you are signing in to.

If you have already clicked on the link and entered your credentials, please change your PIN or password immediately.

Campus Services Network Outage for 7/30/19

On Tuesday, July 30th, from 6 - 7:30 a.m., CaTS will be performing a network upgrade in the Campus Services building. During this time, all network connectivity will be unavailable in the Campus Services building, and the buildings listed below.

Upcoming Panopto Cloud Upgrade/Downtime

Thursday, July 18: Mandatory Client UpgradeÌý

The Panopto software service will require Panopto for Windows, Panopto for Mac, and Remote Recorders to be upgraded to version 6.0 or above. The upgrade provides new admin presets and other features (more details ) and will be applied to our WSU Panopto site at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

Saturday, August 10: Downtime

Panopto will be making a number of updates to the Panopto Cloud infrastructure to increase performance and scalability. These updates will require downtime. They expect up to 3 hours of downtime, starting at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

During this downtime, our users will not be able to access recordings on our server, and any attempt to upload from recording clients will result in a "Server unable to connect" message.Ìý
